Unique, rustic atmosphere. Friendly staff and really tasty, homemade food! Hope to be able to open again soon!
Was there to eat ... Service was committed, food and drinks delicious and with reasonable prices, couldn't be better. Very nice location, I'm looking forward to stopping there again
The service was very nice and courteous, but unfortunately mercilessly overwhelmed. The food was unfortunately only below average on the second visit, would rate the food with 2 stars in terms of price / performance. The ambience is great because I give it 5 stars.
On the recommendation of friends we visited the restaurant "Zum Riesen" in Miltenberg. The very friendly staff became aware of the very friendly staff from the very first contact to reserve a table by phone! We were then served by Petra - TOP SERVICE! The entire evening was just great: from the space to the nice selection of dishes and the very good quality of the dishes to the service and ambience - a clear recommendation from us and 5 stars for a great price, service and performance ratio. Many thanks!!!
Very nice and great restaurant. Very tasty food and friendly staff, but reservations should be made in advance. There is a lot going on here, especially on weekends, and you hardly get a seat without a reservation. We have always enjoyed it here and we will always come back 👍. LG Michel
Went to eat there this afternoon. Delicious beef broth with liver dumplings, highly recommended. Käsespätzle really delicious, price-performance ratio fits. Service very nice and attentive. All in all a very nice day.
The hotel is beautiful, an old half-timbered house with old-fashioned rooms. Service fine! Breakfast good, but little variety. You have to book the restaurant next door in advance, otherwise you will not be involved. Food good but always busy, staff rushed.
Great ambience, despite Corona measures, solved very well. Service very friendly and brisk, food very good. That's the way it should be, keep it up
Beautiful building! Since this was touted as a good tip, I was expecting a lot. Unfortunately, often like this, those who have expectations are easily disappointed 😞 The giant pan (pork loin in creamy mushroom sauce & french fries) didn't taste good .. the frozen fries well .. how about homemade fries? The sauce tasteless .. a few spices on the table would have been nice (as a tip). I can't understand the reduced card due to Corona, but you have that more often nowadays & even though the shops are full. Sorry but I can't give more than 2 stars ...
Goes so. Quite poor menu for Mainfranken. Right from above. Makes better Franconian bratwurst. Beer okay but boring. Just like the run-down Miltenberg.
Despite only a short soft drink, very friendly service. Good menu, which already stimulates the appetite at pleasant prices, didn’t let it go away right away! Very nice situation to sit outside in Miltenberg's pedestrian zone. Historic inn, according to the inscription the oldest in Germany ... I recommend a visit here!
We were running late, unfortunately we had no choice. But we got delicious sausage salad and had a great wine. The girls were friendly and accommodating. I hope we come back again
It was quite an experience, like other famous guests like Kaiser Barbarossa, Richard Strauss, Heinz Rühmann, Elvis Presley and others. a. To be able to be a guest in what is probably the oldest hotel in Germany!
The service is very helpful and nice, the food was great and the beer as well and non-alcoholic beer was also very good, I can only recommend me,
One of the oldest restaurants in Germany and this charm is emphasized inside. Food was very tasty and very rich and served relatively quickly. The service was quick and very friendly. If we are in the area we will definitely go there again
Great food @ beer
It was awesome! We were in the area on business and we were warmly recommended the restaurant “zum Giant”. When we arrived in Miltenberg we were amazed. The old town is a dream and in the middle of it stood a house as beautiful as seldom seen. The house in question was the restaurant. We were served warmly right away. The food (typical German cuisine) was fresh and of the highest quality. The beer is home brewed and also of the highest quality. The ambience in the restaurant and around it can hardly be described. Conclusion: The restaurant could easily take 4x for the location, the ambience and the food. Gladly again if you are in the area.
Delicious food, great draft beer. And all at a really good price. Recently, there was a small drop in quality, but it was quickly fixed. Baked beef liver and bay. Roast pork really recommended! Many thanks to the giant team and the Faust brewery, keep it up!
Yes it went like that. Hearty prices for hearty food. You have to be lucky enough to get a seat. Service was friendly.
Oldest resturant of Germany..
Lovely place
Highly recomended!
Tourist place for guided tour. Had a salad full of oil despite asking no dressing. Not very friendly service.

The Place to visit! Going to Zum Riesen each time I'm in Miltenberg. Great food, and of course fantastic Faust Beer - including special, brewed only for Zum Riesen. For an evening time - worth to make a reservation, the place is very popular :)
Very awful service they kept us waiting for more than half an hour for only drinks so we left and no one even noticed 👎👎👎👎 not recommended at all 🤮
The best food in a gorgeous location. What else?
I don't know nothing about food, but beers are awesome, stunning, amazing. Especially barely wine! It crushed my mind
Really good food & the beer is excellent...
The most typical and genuine German restaurant. One of the oldest Gasthauses in Germany and one of the best there is. Loved it!
Old inn was charming
The rooms are very cozy, although more like a museum. The owners as well as the staff are very friendly. The room is very clean. The only thing that bothered me a little was the clairaudience. But by and large, I can only recommend it.
Is ok and beer is traditional and is good
Good food and service!
It's something special to be at one of the world's oldest pubs having a drink. Zum Riesen has this in bucketloads. In addition to the history inside the walls, it is very thoughtfully decorated. What's more important is the quality of the food and service. This was all sensational.
if you're foreigner and your are looking for Traditional German eating this is a good place , the eating is good , the place is very charming. In summer you can sit and drink something outside .
Very nice place with tasty food and very good draft beer!!
If you are in the area you must visit this place. We had lunch and a beer...I was so full I could barely walk. The food was outstanding!
Beautifully decorated inside and out. Good food, a selection of beers and friendly staff. Menu offers advice on food and beer pairing, and is supplied in German and English.
The food was really delicious and the selection of dishes is great! The selection of different beers is also gigantic. The service is friendly and all orders were placed quickly. A special request for dessert was also fulfilled! The inn is cozy and nicely decorated. I definitely recommend it.
I love the porks legs, first class food and the touch of antique makes an authentic place
The Gasthaus zum Riesen is great German restaurant and well worth a stop to enjoy the great food and drink. Worth making time for an enjoyable experience.
Great food
Always nice. Good food good beer good atmosphere
Food was good, had brats and sauerkraut, first time I enjoyed sauerkraut
The building inside and outside is really a pretty old one, worth to see. I visited the restorant last year and this year again. In rush hour it was very very crowded, however the service time was not so bad. But this time we were there out of the rush hour and the service was extremely slow. Finally my family left the restorant and I waited for the waitress alone. We were absolutely disappointed. Out of rush hour there is limited offer from the menu, but you will find something to eat! :)
Tolle Location
Large dining hall, but we lucked out and got a cozy little cavern-like nook at base of the stairway. The beer-brewers assortment of grilled meats was outstanding, and paired well with the local Faust beer.
Very nice place! It's very tradicional and has a delicious food.
An amazing stay. The town is picture book, the place is like a museum... If only the walls could talk. A definite must if you're visiting the area. Beds are comfortable and the breakfast copious.
